Vapor. Temporary. Fragile.
There is a small symbol, a short line, a dash—
But it carries great weight
The time from our birth
Until our bodies become soil and ash.
It sums up our existence,
Our lives on earth.
But sadly, so often we don’t consider
Just how much our days are worth.
We may feel like we have so much time,
Or surely we would be given a sign.
But the reality is that one day we will all go
And it is only the God of all,
The day and hour does know.
Explore, seek, find,
Like grains of sand in my hand.
To the deserts of this world
Is my time here on earth,
Compared to eternal life to behold.
As droplets to the ocean,
And blades of grass to fields green,
Is my moment here and now
To the land unseen.
Eternity stands before,
Like a wide open door.
It’s a land we will one day all face
Oh, how we need His mercy and His grace.
Don’t waste a second, a day, or a year.
He is the only one who brings true life
And will one day wipe away every tear.
Friendship and forgiveness are promised.
His cross bridged the impossible rift.
Repent and believe is all that is needed
To receive this wonderful, precious gift.
Purpose. Hope. Significance.
It is the certain unknown.
The land beyond the grave
A world full of joy, lived with the only one who could save.
Rooms are prepared for sons and daughters alike.
Reward is laid up for lives lived right.
And so what is our response as we gaze upon the shores of forever?
It is to live for the King,
And to walk with Him each day together.
There is no greater cause to live for than His great name.
And one day, very soon, to see Him
No fear, no guilt, no shame.
Celebration. Joy. Everlasting.
John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
